Andie Flores (b. 1990) (she/her) is a performance artist in Austin, Texas, who uses embarrassment as a medium for investigating hyper, almost obsessive, visibility in a racialized body. Her work has been shown at Presa House Gallery, The Museum of Human Achievement, Ivester Contemporary, MASS Gallery, Future Front Film Fest, Contrast Film Festival, Fusebox Festival, and The Dallas Latino Cultural Center. She was named one of Remezcla’s ‘40 Emerging, Texas-based Artists to Know’ in 2020 and Glasstire’s ‘Best of 2021’.

Show Description
Part joy-infested pop culture fever dream, part mental illness nap, TO GET THERE…

YOU MUST UNDERGO… A RADICAL……………………. TRANSFORMATION is a show about a clown idiot who, at the head of a year-long depression, falls asleep watching The Wizard of Oz during that scene where Dorothy falls asleep in the poppy fields. Stuck inside a twisted version of Oz, the clown must confront all the things she thinks might get her to the other side of her misery. Can she get back to herself or is it finally time to conjure a totally new clown for some great reemergence? How can you ever know? A show about being both the disoriented loser and the wizard.

Written, directed, performed by the uninsured Andie Flores featuring the incomparable Arinna Dior Heys!
